SUBJECT: Health Issue: DENGUE

November 29, 2011
To,
The Editor,
Daily Dawn Newspaper,
Lahore.

Since months I have been observing the tiring and repeating scenario in our city regarding our health matters. No doubt, it has already been a major issue which should have been addressed seriously, but the recent discovery of dengue has added fuel to fire. It is probably heading towards a huge upset or massacre of the peaceful Pakistanis. Apparently, government is putting in enough efforts to control it, but still we think that more measures could have been taken for our rescue.
All the streets and public parks are polluted with garbage. Also, there is no reliable sanitation system found. Due to all these issues, Dengue is spreading all over Pakistan. So, I request the health minister to not only provide us with enough funds, but arrange for good doctors and medical instruments from private hospitals for the common man, because the drowning less privileged citizens are, also, a part of the same country and deserve the same facilities as our upper class enjoy. Moreover, there should be a proper sanitation system so that we can get rid of Dengue. It’s time to stand and work together for the welfare of our country. Let’s begin working; first, we should target our own cities in order to turn them into better places which will definitely lead towards the betterment of the whole country.

Looking forward to your prompt response,
Yours Truly,
Saliha Farooq
Gulzar-e-Mansoorah,
Multan
